Incandescence I. GOTKOVSKY

Commissioned as part of the Contemporary Tenor Repertoire Initiative by 25 saxophonists, Incandescence is a landmark new composition for tenor saxophone and piano. Approximately 15 minutes in length, this  is the first and only tenor saxophone solo by Madame Gotkovsky. Although accompanied by piano, the piece opens with an extended cadenza and includes some extended techniques - altissimo and multiphonics (in the first movement only). The third movement is a brilliant tour de force, which demonstrates the technical capabilities of the tenor saxophone. This piece will be a welcome addition to the repertoire and provide a great sonority for recital programs.
