ALHAMBRA

In the early 60's, Francisco Martínez Clavel proposed to his partners, Ricardo Llorens and José María Vilaplana Vilaplana, who had a small carpentry workshop, the construction of a prototype of Spanish classical guitar.

Following the proposal of Mr. Martínez Clavel, Ricardo Llorens and José María Vilaplana Vilaplana built an instrument, based on a familiar guitar.

This sample was reviewed and honed by local music teachers.

In view of the results obtained, they decided to start the project of the construction of guitars. For this purpose they formed a company called "Manufacturas Jachi", whose constituent partners were Francisco Martínez Clavel, José María Vilaplana Vilaplana, Ricardo Llorens Bonhome and his brother-in-law José Luis.

Subsequently, due to the lack of social facilities, they decided to move to other new premises, located on the Cela road without number of Muro de Alcoy, where some 20 workers came to work.

Due to various circumstances and life events, José Botella Miró contacted Manufacturas Jachi, and offered them his services as a commercial agent, with the purpose of relaunching sales both in the domestic market and in the international market.

After a few years, Mr. Martínez Clavel decided to sell his shares and leave the company. From that moment on, José Botella Miró and Rafael Insa Satorre reached an agreement with Mr. Martínez Clavel to continue the project, after a six-month trial period.

On June 14, 1965, "Manufacturas Alhambra, SA" was founded. Its founding partners were Rafael Insa Satorre, José Botella Miró, José Botella Valls, Jesús Cuesta Suárez, José María Vilaplana Vilaplana and D. Ricardo Llorens Bonhome.

During all these years and to this day, "Alhambra" has gradually been implanted in the market of string musical instruments, national and international, based on a continuous effort and a constant desire to overcome.

Since the beginning of the project, "Alhambra" has been faithful to the construction of guitars, following the traditional system of construction of Spanish heel, and always using the most noble and varied woods.

Finally, the human capital of this company must be emphasized, since a great part of those young people who began to work in that small workshop have developed all their professional life in the company, to the point that many of them have retired in the same . Others of those professionals continue working in the company from its origins, they constitute a great team with a lot of experience, and represent invaluable value for "Alhambra".
